Marcus Franklin (Tap)

  • Trained in jazz, modern, tap, ballet, African and hip-hop techniques. 
  • BA in Dance Studies with a minor in Theatre from the University of South Florida.
  • Performed as a dancer in the main show at Bush Gardens Tampa. 
  • Currently serves on the Dance Faculty of Broadway Training Center and is the Dance instructor for the Fordham University Fitness Center as well as Company Director for the Steffi Nossen Dance Foundation in White Plains.
  • Certified as a Group Fitness Instructor by the AFPA. 

Julie V. Mac (Contemporary)

  • Has performed as a tap dancer  in many venues including the The Paramount Theatre in Peekskill,S.O.B’s in Manhattan, Aaron Davis Hall in Harlem, NY.
  • As a member of the Tap City Youth Ensemble, has performed in over 30 different gala events for American Tap Dance Foundation (ATDF).
  • Specialties in tap include improvisation, audience inclusion and music arrangement. 

Christina LoCastro (Ballet)

  • Graduate of Dance for Joy, where she studied for 14 years
  • BS in Childhood Education from SUNY Oneonta
  • Attended Radio City Rockettes Summer Intensive and Metropolitan Repertory Ballet
  • Working on her Masters in Special Education

Tia Levinson (Ballet, Modern)

  • BFA in Dance from Texas Christian University
  • Masters in Arts Education from Columbia College, Chicago
  • Performed with Fort Worth Ballet, Wisconsin Ballet
  • Over 15 years experience as a teacher and choreographer
  • Mom to 3 children

Deanna Fiscus Ford (Ballet)

  • Trained at SAB (School of American Ballet)
  • Performed for many years with Hartford Ballet
  • Radio City Music Hall Rockette
  • Teaches master classes and judges competitions and conventions across USA

Nancy Levin(Core Work)

  • Education Law Attorney
  • Certified Spinning Instructor
  • Certified Pilates Instructor
  • Experienced in teaching yoga & Pilates to children
  • Has own Pilates apparatus studio in Cortlandt Manor
  • Two children; daughter dances at Dance for Joy and son is an up and coming young singer/songwriter

Rowena DiBenedetto(Ballet, Jazz)

  • Theater Arts degree
  • Over 10 years performing with numerous companies
  • Over 20 years teaching experience
  • Mom to 4 daughters, all danced at Dance for Joy

Roberta Humphrey, Director (Ballet)
  • Ed.M. Harvard University, focus on childhood development
  • Early training with mom, Jean Humphrey, who danced with Radio City Music Hall Ballet
  • Trained in Boston (Cambridge School of Ballet, Radcliffe Dance, Boston Ballet Theater) and New York (David Howard)
  • Over 15 years touring with New England Ballet/Edra Toth and the Dance Prism
  • Over 40 years teaching experience.
