Clips from our 2013 Recitals:

The 'little show' which was Carnival of the Animals and the finale, Pocket Song.

The 'big show, which included Jazz, Modern, Alumni, Company, and Pointe in the first half of the program and the ballet, The Firebird, which was the second half of the program.  This clip shows Modern, Alumni, Company and Pointe clips, plus some of The Firebird.

The 'little show'

Our Bippity Bop classes (3 to 6 year olds) are separated into their own show dubbed the 'Little Show'.  We feel it is unfair to expect this age group to be at the theater for a long time.  They have their own story ballet, and are part of the show at all times; either posing on stage, dancing, or coming around backstage to go onstage again.  Our older students volunteer to assist us, and each class has at least two of their own 'big girls' who accompany them the entire time. We feel it is important that there is no stress about performing so for Bippty Bop 1  classes the teacher is onstage with them; for Bippity Bop 2 the teacher prompts from the side.  Dancers always wear the same light pink or white tights and ballet slippers that they wear for classes so there is nothing extra to buy.  Everything, from being dropped off to being picked up, takes a little over an hour.  We have all happy little dancers, and parents are more than happy not to have to sit through hours of dancing to see their dancer.

Recitals

THe 'big show'

All Beginner classes through Advanced are in what we call the 'Big Show'.  Our Jazz classes open the show, followed by pieces from modern, contemporary, alumni, company and all the pointe classes.  After intermission, we have a full story ballet.  The entire show runs about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.  Story ballets have included a Midsummer Nights Dream, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Don Quixote, The Summer King, and last year's The Firebird. Our policy is that graduating seniors have the lead roles, regardless of how long they have danced with us or what level they are in.  Their group picture is featured on our program cover.
